India-China Clashes at Northern Borders : Strategic Implications

Two clashes have occurred between Indian and Chinese soldiers in recent days, one each in North Sikkim and East Ladakh. These are strange clashes by military standards as no firearms were used and there were no gunshot wounds or blast injuries. Yet five Indians and seven Chinese personnel have been injured and not in any superfluous way.

India needs to hit Pakistan economically; carry out limited military operations

For almost eight months Kashmir has been quiet, both in the streets, the jungles and the mountain tops. However, with effect, early April this year terrorist-related incidents have been on the rise, at the Line of Control (LoC) and the hinterland. South Kashmir is active but there also appears an intent to activate North Kashmir. The streets so far are quiet and devoid of the activities of rabble-rousers and stone-throwers.
